By the time it was time to pull the denim apart, the jeans had become too tight.
So we put the jeans back together and cut the elastic band to make it shorter.
The result is a pair of jeans that look and feel more like they’ve been ripped from the waistband of a washing machine than a pair that has been worn for hours.

The answer is a resounding YES.
We went with a brand new fabric that was a little heavier, but still soft and comfortable, and we used a Japanese selvedge denim in this pair.
The jeans fit beautifully, and I was able to wear them for two days straight without any soreness.
In a perfect world, we would’ve been able to use our denim as a pair to keep on top of the water or as a replacement for the jeans in case something happened to the pair or it became too tight, but we were able to pull it apart without any issues.
As for the wash, the pants were washed in our washing machine and were ready to wear when we got home.
If you’re looking for an all-around wash that’s also comfortable, it’s a good option.
