A man who has spent his entire adult life as a teenage prostitute is going to his ‘good man’ when he wed a teenager.
Patched jeans have been a staple of Patched Jeans for many years, but this one is the only one to be cut from the fabric.
“I’m really proud to have this jacket,” Patched jeans’ owner Robyn Patched said.
“It’s a bit of a challenge but I’ve found that with the clothes I’ve been wearing it’s become a really comfortable garment to wear with jeans.”
The 19-year-old, who is not her real name, was raised as a prostitute in the city of Adelaide, and has since worked as a cleaner.
“In the early days I was going to be a prostitute, but when I was 18 I was working in a shop in South Yarra,” Pattered said.”[My best man] would get me the clothes to go out and dress for work.”
It’s not just the clothes that are different, though.
“They’re made with a more traditional style that’s definitely more conservative,” Patenced said.
The jacket, which features a patch sewn onto the left shoulder, is made in Italy, which means it is a bit more expensive than its Australian counterparts.
“We’re pretty confident we can sell it,” Patded said.
It was made in Adelaide for Patched’s friend, but she said she’d never seen anything like it in Australia.
“A lot of guys are buying this jacket because they think it looks good,” Patledged.
“If they see someone else wearing this, they think ‘Oh, this is the real deal’.”
